Cougars Announce 2010 Recruiting Class!
We are proud to announce the signing of six new Cougar Soccer players!
Craven on choosing the College of Charleston: “Charleston is a prestigious school in an amazing city. The Charleston soccer program has a tremendous history and proven track record of producing outstanding players and teams. I look forward to playing for such a prominent coach in Coach Lundy. My high school coach Bobby Brockman, a former Charleston team captain, coached my brothers and me and has been a big influence on me.”
Coach Lundy on Craven: “Andy’s work rate combined with his overall talent make him a great recruit for our program. His speed is electric and he uses this to make intelligent, dynamic runs up front. I’m excited that he is a part of our Cougar family now.”

Lewis on choosing the College of Charleston: “I chose to play at College of Charleston because the campus and city are beautiful and the soccer environment in Charleston is awesome.”
Coach Lundy on Lewis: “Taylor is a fantastic ball-winning midfielder. He is an extremely smart individual that plays simple and rarely loses possession. Taylor’s winning attitude will push our players both on the field and in the classroom.
Kattreh on choosing the College of Charleston: “I chose to play at College of Charleston because it is a great mid-sized school on the east coast and is close to my family. I’m also looking forward to playing for an experienced coach in Coach Lundy.”
Coach Lundy on Kattreh: “Tony is an extremely talented two-way midfielder that can spark attacks and break things up on the defensive end. His vision in the final third of the field is very good and he also has the ability to make penetrating runs off the dribble. We are very excited to have Tony as a Cougar.”

De Mare on choosing the College of Charleston: “I chose to play at College of Charleston because of its high academic standard. I also chose Charleston because of its excellent soccer program and tremendous coaching staff. I feel this is the best place where I can succeed in school, soccer, and in life.”
Coach Lundy on De Mare: “Joey is an attacking minded winger that has the ability to provide an excellent service in dangerous areas. I like the competitive spirit he brings to matches and training and look forward to helping him develop his talent in Charleston.”
Fornell on choosing the College of Charleston: “I have chosen the College of Charleston because it has everything I was looking for in a university. It has a great academic reputation and an outstanding student life. It is also a great community which I have grown up in and have loved everything here in Charleston. I am very excited about the opportunity to play on a Division I soccer team which competes at the National level every year. The feel the College of Charleston soccer program including the players and coaches is the best fit for me.”
Coach Lundy on Fornell: “Eric has a lot of the intangibles that every coach looks for in a frontrunner. He is physically very strong, has good pace, and has the ability to score goals. Eric has a high ceiling and I look forward to helping him reach his potential.
Abramson on choosing the College of Charleston: “I chose Charleston because it was not only my first choice soccer wise, but it was my first choice academically as well. I love the campus and the city is one of my favorites on the east coast. There is not a better place to put a college.”
Coach Lundy on Abramson: “Seth is an athletic, physical presence at the back. He also understands the role of a defender and is excellent in 1v1 situations. His work ethic is tremendous and I think he will bring a lot of positives to our program.”

Pictures from Fall '09 Maryland Trip
I'm finally catching up from the season and able to post some great pictures from our trip to Maryland in November. We traveled up on Thursday afternoon and were able to tour Washington, DC during our trip. This trip, along with our Lehigh/Bucknell trip, was one of the most memorable away trips from our 2009 season. Not only did we play a fantastic match versus the 2008 National Champions (lost 1-2), but we were able to take our players into Washington and see some of the beautiful monuments.

Congratulations to Matt Morris for being named to the NSCAA/adidas All-South team. This is a very prestigious honor, as the South region is one of the toughest regions in the nation. Morris lead our team with 7 goals and 6 assists this past season and was one of our team captains. This is a great way to cap off a tremendous career as a Cougar! Congrats again Matt!
